TAKING CARE Taking care of your diamond jewellery Diamonds may be the hardest substance on earth, but they still require attention and care. The best way to clean your diamond jewellery is to use a mild soap solution and warm water. If necessary, use a soft toothbrush to scrub behind the stone. After brushing, simply rinse with warm (not hot) water and allow to dry. Also, rubbing with a soft chamois cloth is a good way to keep the gold shiny. Please keep your jewellery away from household chemicals such as chlorine or hair spray; they could dull the surface of the diamond. Diamonds are uniquely resistant to damage by heat or scratching: a diamond can be cut or polished only by another diamond. However, many diamonds can have natural inclusions that weaken the crystal structure, which means they could shatter. Therefore, we advise that you keep all diamond jewellery individually stored in soft cloth pouches when not being worn. This prevents the diamond or diamonds from scratching or dulling other jewellery.
